Captain Paula welcomed all to our second Committee meeting of the year.

Bereavement

Sympathies were expressed to the O’Dowd family on the sudden death of our dear member Philomena RIP and to Emmet and the Ronan family on the death of their dear father Paddy RIP.

G.I.G. Initiative

The Women’s Golf Committee are pleased to accept Ilona Madden’s offer to continue to drive this work with new members. Clodagh has, in her capacity, as President welcomed new members, and the new members pack will be distributed.

Communication

Good News – The Women’s Golf Committee now have an official WGC email, please send any future communication for the Women’s Golf Committee to the following email address: womensclub@wicklowgolfclub.ie

Competitions

Several members have volunteered to manage teams for the coming year and the Committee wish to thank them for their continued support.

President Clodagh is currently securing sponsorship for the coming years competitions, and we should have all in place by the start of the season.

Social Events

- Valentine’s Night social event will take place on Friday 14th February 2025.

- International Women’s Day will be celebrated in Wicklow Golf Club on Friday 7th March 2025. The day will start with Tea/Coffee/Scones at 10.00am before heading out to play an open Golf Scramble/Golf Clinic with Club Professional Louise at 11.00 am, followed by lunch afterwards. Friends and family are all welcome. Please see the poster for full details.

- St. Patrick’s Day, 17th March 2025 - Carvery and Music on the day.

- Spring Leagues Presentations will take place on Wednesday 26th March.

Currently, the Committee are in the process of sourcing new options for the monthly Medal Winners, replacing the pin that was given in the past.

Golf Ireland AGM will take place at 11.00 am on Saturday 29th March 2025 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Blanchardstown.
