Return to Qualifying Golf

Now that winter golf is coming to an end and we are moving towards summer time, members are advised from Friday April 1st we will see a return to the golf ‘Active Season’ for handicap purposes in Wicklow Golf Club. Therefore the practice of preferred lies (placing) will end, we have already brought bunkers back into play.

Therefore all golf going forwards in the ‘Active Season’, both 18 hole and 9 hole competitions, played in an ‘Authorized Format’ and played under the ‘Rules of Golf’ will be subject to the Rules of Handicapping (Rule 2.1).

General play rounds, once pre-registered and played under the ‘Rules of Golf’, may now also be submitted to the computer or APP for handicap purposes.

We are asking all members to comply with these requirements and ensure your scores are returned for handicap purposes and cards are returned as normal.
