Help Shape The Future Strategy Of Golf Ireland
Golf Ireland has begun an in-depth process of engagement and consultation as we develop a new Strategic Plan for the organisation.
In 2019, the member clubs of the Golfing Union of Ireland and the Irish Ladies Golf Union resoundingly endorsed the Proposal to establish a new single governing body for golf on the island of Ireland. Despite the many challenges of the global pandemic, that new organisation became operational – on schedule – in January 2021.
The vision of Golf Ireland is to create a modern, inclusive and joined-up governing body to untap the immense potential of golf on the island of Ireland. In devising a Strategic Plan, we aim to reinforce and develop this vision, the fundamental values and strategic objectives that underpinned the Golf Ireland Proposal.
The Board of Golf Ireland invites you to play your part in the creation of this new plan. We hope to hear the views of as many in the golf community as possible – clubs; volunteers; committee members and, of course, individual golfers. This survey will be shared with all registered golfers, however we would be grateful if clubs could encourage as many club members and committees to complete this consultation.
Starting with the survey, that is being launched today, over the coming months there will be widespread stakeholder engagement within the golf community. We will also be seeking views from outside the world of golf, including from the general public and from external government and regulatory bodies.
This is an exciting time for golf in Ireland, we ask you to please take the time to respond to the survey and take part in this consultation. Your feedback will be invaluable to us as we develop a Strategic Plan to guide Golf Ireland in the coming years.
