Course Works Update - 17th January 2022

Dear Members,

The Management Committee have received feedback on the proposed work on the gorse bushes to the right of the 11th Green and based on this, the work will be put on hold & reviewed with all interested parties. Further communications will be issued once that review is completed.

14th January Update: As we are now well into January and Spring approaches, this is the time that maintenance work is typically done on the course in preparation for a busy golfing Summer schedule. The Facilities subcommittee have been busy planning updates to the course, below is a list of the current works on going and work that is planned over the next few weeks:

• Hollow coring will be completed on the Greens commencing mid Feb.

• At the written request of several members the Gorse area to the right of the 11th Green will be reduced by approx. 50% to provide more landing space.

• Grass sodding on the new 17th tee boxes will commence shortly as the upgrade works continue

• Drainage work upgrades around the 12th Green

• Fencing work on the Dunbur Road has been completed and further upgrades are planned

• Shrub planting around the 17th Green & 10th Tee Box.

• New Tee box signage has been introduced on the course

• Preparation work commencing in the area beside the 15th tee box that is required for a planning application for Toilet Facilities.

Please exercise caution when work is in progress on a hole especially if the hole is in play. At no stage should anyone enter any area that is being worked on.

Finally, some of this work and other additional work on the course e.g. new plants on the 10th Tee Box, are being funded by the Joker Draw so your continued support for the draw is very welcome.
