Local Rules and Index changes

Please find below the updated Local Rules and Indices where appropriate. Good to get acquainted with these ahead of the Men’s Winter league starting this week. All local rules and indices have also been changed on the new scorecard.

Scorecard Local Rules Effective October 2022

Out of Bounds (Rule 18)
1. Beyond all course boundaries. Fences and supports at 1st fairway and behind the 1st green, 3rd tee, 3rd green, 6th fairway, 13th fairway, behind the 13th green and 14th fairway form part of the course boundary.
2. Beyond the white stakes and/or lines to the left of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 12th, 16th and 18th fairways, to the left of and behind the 13th green, to the left of and behind the 15th green and to the right of and behind the 17th green.
3. On the right of way through the Glen on the 7th and 11th holes.
4. The clubhouse enclosure and carpark.

Internal Out of Bounds (Rule 18)
1. When playing the 4th hole beyond the White Stakes between 4th and 5th fairways.
2. When playing the 10th hole, beyond the White Stakes between the 10th and 18th holes.
3. When playing the 11th hole, beyond the white stakes at the machinery roadway to the left of the hole.

Immovable Obstructions (Rule 16.1)
1. All roads and pathways.
2. Protective fences at the 7th,10th, 15th and 16th tee boxes.
3. Upright stone in semi - rough on right hand side of the 4th and 10th holes.
4. Fixed sprinkler heads, hydrants, manhole and drain covers, bins, seats, ball cleaners, bell supports, staked trees, fixed yardage posts and discs, granite tee markers and direction posts.
5. Winter tee boxes, including timber surrounds.
6. White stakes identifying Internal Out of Bounds when playing any hole to which the Internal Out of Bounds does not apply.

Artificial Hole Covers (Rule 16.1d)
If a ball lies on the putting green and an artificial hole cover intervenes on the line of play, relief may be obtained without penalty, by marking, lifting and placing the ball at the nearest point of complete relief on the putting green not nearer the hole.

Penalty Areas (Rule 17)
On the 17th hole, as an additional option to Rule 17, adding one penalty stroke, a ball may be dropped in the appropriate Dropping zone.
When a player’s ball lies in the red penalty area on the 1st hole, the player may take relief using one
of the options under Rule 17.1d or as an extra relief option adding one penalty stroke, the player
may drop the original ball or another ball, within two club lengths of the reference point on the opposite side of the penalty area.

Index Changes

Men’s Index changes on the card:
• Holes 1 to 9 no changes
• Hole 10 no change remains as Index 1
• Hole 11 be changed from Index 17 to Index 15
• Hole 12 be changed from Index 9 to Index 5
• Hole 13 be changed from Index 3 to Index 9
• Hole 14 no change remains as Index 7
• Hole 15 be changed from 5 to index to Index 3
• Hole 16 be changed from Index 13 to Index 17
• Hole 17 no change remains as Index 11
• Hole 18 be changed from Index 15 to Index 13

There are no changes to the Women’s indices
