i) There will be Regional and National sections organised in accordance with Reg. 3.2(b) of the General Regulations.
ii) Foursomes Stroke Play / Match Play. In Match Play each match shall be played over 18 holes, the aggregate of holes up to decide the winning team. The full round must be played unless an overall result on holes up has already decided the event, when the defeated team may concede the match before completion of 18 holes.
iii) Except where the draw specifies that one game should be played in each club contesting the match, in the case of a tie, the second match as selected, shall immediately continue one hole at a time until there is a winner.
iv) Where one game is played in each club contesting the match, the pairs playing in the club drawn on top will continue one hole at a time until there is a winner. The pairs contesting tie holes must maintain their respective orders of play in which they played from the start of the match.
v) See Regulation 6.5(a) for full details on the application of the rules in the event of an aggregate tie, and with regard to the order of play.
e) Handicapping: To be eligible, players must have a Handicap Index® at the time of competing. All matches are played off scratch. Teams may play in any combined handicap order.
Irish Mixed Foursomes

a) Age Group: 18 and over as per in Section A of the General Regulations
b) Gender: Female and male
c) Size of Team: 8 players (4 x pairings, each of one male and one female)
d) Rules of Play: Play in all rounds will be foursomes match play. The male player must play first on first hole of the match and at every second hole thereafter. Each side must play off the same set of tees on each hole when teeing off – the standard set of male and female tees respectively where male and female players are to drive. Teams may play in any combined handicap order.
e) In accordance with General Regulation 8.1 (c) in the Golf Ireland Handbook, matches that finish all-square after 18 will be halved. If the overall result of the match is tied, the selected pair for each team, who must have played together on the day, will engage in a hole-by-hole playoff until there is a winner.
f) Handicap Eligibility: All players must have an active Handicap Index on 1 Jan in the year of the event. The Players’ Inter-Club Eligibility Handicap Index (as per section D of the general regulations), when added together, must not be lower than 19.0. This value will also be used to determine course handicaps for all matches. If the combined handicap index is higher than 27.0, the pair must use 27.0 with the higher player dropping down. If both players are off the same h’cap in this scenario, both drop down to 13.5. To be eligible players must have 20 scores on their handicap records, which were recorded on or before 31 December 2025 and have returned 4 scores in a singles competition in 2025 as per regulation 2.3(g) of the General Regulations.
g) Course Handicap Calculation: Male players must calculate their Course Handicaps using the Slope Rating of the tees prescribed for Male Players and Female players must do likewise using the Rating for the tees to be used by Female players.
h) Stroke Indexes: strokes given or received are based on the stroke indexes used by men in match play.
Barton Cup

e) Regulations
• Matches will be played at home and away as per the draw. All matches must be played to a finish unless an overall result is reached, in which case unfinished matches will be declared halved. In Round 1, the club on top of the draw has 3 matches at home and 2 away. Subsequent round draws will be determined using the prescribed method in the General Regulations.
• For the final the club to play at home in the first leg will be determined by lot. The dates for the final are arranged by the Leinster Championship Sub Committee in advance.
• (iv) In the event of a tie after the second leg of the final, both Team Captains will have 15 minutes to declare a pair from the pairs that competed in the second leg (no splitting of pairs), who will play match play over three holes in sequence prescribed by the Leinster Championship Sub Committee prior to the final. If still tied, they shall play sudden death over the same holes until there is a winner.
f) Handicapping:
• Players must have a Handicap Index on 1st January.
• A player must have 20 scores on their record by 31st December 2025 and have returned 4 scores in a singles competition in 2025 as per regulation 2.3(g) of the General Regulations. The player’s Inter-Club Eligibility Handicap Index (as per section D of the general regulations) will be their HI for all purposes (eligibility, matching with partners etc)
• Lowest combined Handicap Index of a pair – 14.0.
• All matches played off scratch. Teams may play in any combined handicap order. g) Caddies: Caddies are prohibited.

Introduced in 2024 and replaces the Provincial Towns Cup.

e) Regulations:
• Open to all clubs in the Leinster Region
• Matches will be played at home and away as per the draw. In the first round, the club on top of the draw has four matches at home and three matches away. Subsequent round draws will be determined by using the Golf Ireland Match draws guide. All matches must be played to a finish unless an overall result is reached, in which case unfinished matches will be declared halved.
• For the final the club to play at home in the first leg will be determined by lot. The dates for the final are arranged by the Leinster Championship Sub Committee in advance.
• Ties after second leg: Should a match result in a tie, on conclusion of the seven games after the second leg of the final, each Team Captain will have 15 minutes from the conclusion of the match to identify the player on their team who will contest a sudden death play-off to determine the overall winner per General Regulation 8.1c. f) Handicapping
• To be eligible, a player must have 20 scores on their handicap record by 31 December 2025 and have returned 4 scores in a singles competition in 2025 as per regulation 2.3(g) of the General Regulations. The player’s Inter-Club Eligibility Handicap Index (as per section D of the general regulations) will be their handicap index for all purposes.
• The Inter-Club Eligibility Handicap Index of a player must not be lower than 8.5
• All matches are played off scratch. Teams may play in any handicap order.
g) Caddies: Caddies are permitted.
Note 1 - A copy of the “Inter-Club Team Report”, available to download from the Golf Ireland Clubhouse, MUST be attached in order to verify the information on the Team Sheet
Note 2 – When the match is concluded, win or lose, please retain a copy of the team sheet with the individual match results filled out and return to the Club’s Handicap Committee. This will assist in the completion of the Annual Handicap Review at the conclusion of the season.
Note 3 – When playing matches simultaneously at home and away, separate team sheets should be used for each venue listing only the players playing at that venue.

Ireland's amateur golf legend is commemorated by the Jimmy Bruen Shield, inaugurated in 1978 when Stackstown won the first competition. Clubs are represented by five pairs, the minimum individual handicap index being 6 and the minimum combined index 17. It is a National Foursomes Competition aimed at Category 2 handicap indexes (6-12) golfers.

AIG Pierce Purcell Shield
AIG Pierce Purcell Shield (Foursomes)

Round 2 -v- Powerscourt on or before Sunday 24th May
Named after Professor Purcell, one of Ireland's outstanding golf administrators, from the 1920s to 1960s, it was won first by Masserene, in 1970. The Pierce Purcell Shield is a national foursome competition aimed at category 3 handicap index golfers (11-17).

d) Rules of Play: Play in all rounds will be foursomes match play. Matches will be played off scratch. Teams may play in any combined handicap order. e) Handicap Eligibility: The Players’ Inter-Club Eligibility Handicap Indexes (as per section D of the general regulations), when added together, must not be lower than 25.0. The lowest Inter-Club Eligibility Handicap Index an individual may hold in order to be eligible is 10.5. To be eligible players must have 20 scores on their handicap records, which were recorded on or before 31 December 2025 and have returned 4 scores in a singles competition in 2025 as per regulation 2.3(g) of the General Regulations.

Instituted in 1900, when Dublin University won it for the first time, the Senior Cup is the most coveted trophy in club golf. Teams consist of five players in singles matchplay, off scratch. The figure on the lid is that of Fred G. Tait.

Reintroduced in 2024 to replace the All Ireland Four-ball.
a) Age Group: 18 years and over as specified in the General Regulations.

c) Size of Team: 8 players (four Four-Ball pairings)
d) Form of Play: Four-Ball Match Play (off scratch)
e) Regulations
i) Open to clubs in the Leinster Region.
ii) Two matches shall be played at each club except for the Leinster Final which shall be played at a date and venue set in advance by the Leinster Championship Sub Committee.
iii) All rounds are scheduled for play on the date set down on the draw, however Clubs may mutually agree to play matches prior to this date if practicable to do so. No Extensions shall be granted.
iv) Matches: Each match shall conclude after 18 holes, if a match result is not already determined, each team will be awarded a half point.
v) Tied match: Should a match result in a tie, on conclusion of the four games, the venue which has been deemed the home venue for playoff purposes as per the Golf Ireland Match Draws Guide shall house the sudden death decider. Each Team Captain will have 15 minutes from the conclusion of the match to identify their pair on the team who will contest a sudden death play-off to determine the overall winner per General Regulation 8.1c. Splitting of pairs is not permitted.
f) Handicapping
i) To be eligible, a player must have 20 scores on their handicap record by 31 December 2025 and have returned 4 scores in a singles competition in 2025 as per regulation 2.3(g) of the General Regulations. The player’s Inter-Club Eligibility Handicap Index (as per section D of the general regulations) will be their handicap index for all purposes.
ii) For a pair to be eligible, a player’s Inter-Club Eligibility Handicap Index must not be lower than 15.0 and the pair combined, must not be lower than 34.0.
iii) Matches are played off scratch. Teams may play in any combined handicap order
g) Caddies: Caddies are prohibited.

d) Rules of Play: Play in all rounds will be four-ball match play. For safety reasons, men should play from the tee first on each hole. Matches will be played using the four-ball allowance of 75% for each player as detailed in Regulation 2.1(a). Teams may play in any combined handicap order. In accordance with General Regulation 8.1 (c) in the Golf Ireland Handbook, matches that finish all-square after 18 will be halved. If the overall result of the match is tied, the selected pair for each team, who must have played together on the day, will engage in a hole-by-hole playoff until there is a winner.
e) Handicap Eligibility: The Players’ Inter-Club Eligibility Handicap Index (as per section D of the general regulations), when added together, must not be lower than 27.0 or higher than 40.0 (if higher, dropdowns are permitted with the higher of the pair dropping down unless both players are off the same handicap, in which case both will drop down to 20.0). The lowest Inter-Club Eligibility Handicap Index an individual may hold in order to be eligible is 10.0. To be eligible players must have 20 scores on their handicap records, which were recorded on or before 31 December 2025 and have returned 4 scores in a singles competition in 2025 as per regulation 2.3(g) of the General Regulations.

Introduced in 2024, replacing the Fred Perry Trophy.
a) Age Group: 60 years and over as specified in Regulation 1.2 of the General Regulations.
b) Gender: Male
c) Size of Team: 8 players (in four-ball pairings)
d) Regulations:
i) The form of play is Four-ball Match Play, open to all clubs in Connacht. Teams may play in any combined handicap order.
ii) Clubs are drawn to play in four regional zones of knockout Match Play; The club drawn first shall have two matches at Home with the remaining two matches played on their opponent’s course in the first round only. Subsequent round draws will be determined by using the Golf Ireland Match Draws Guide For the purpose of determining the venue of the 2-Leg of the Area Final, the second Leg shall follow the Golf Ireland Match Draws Guide.
iii) Venue: All rounds shall be played Home and Away over one round, excluding the Area Final which shall be played over two Legs; Each leg of the final shall start no later than 13.00hrs;
iv) Date: As prescribed in Draw; All rounds are scheduled for play on the Date set down, however Clubs may mutually agree to play prior to this date if practicable to do so. No Extensions shall be granted.
v) Matches: Each match shall conclude after 18th Holes, if match result not already determined, with half points being applied.
vi) Should match Result be Tied on conclusion of the four games, the venue which has been deemed the Home Venue, as per the Golf Ireland Match Draws Guide shall house the sudden death decider.
vii) Settling Tied match: Each team captain will have 15 minutes from the conclusion of the match to identify a pairing who played together on the day on the team who will contest a sudden-death playoff to determine the overall winner. This will be played at the location deemed to be the Home Venue as per the Golf Ireland Match Draws Guide.
viii) Caddies are prohibited
e) Handicapping:
i) Players must have a Handicap Index on 1st January, and 20 scores on their handicap record as of 31 December 2025 and have returned 4 scores in a singles competition in 2025 as per regulation 2.3(g) of the General Regulations.
ii) The player’s Inter-Club Eligibility Handicap Index (as per section D of the general regulations) is used to determine eligibility and playing handicap on the day (i.e., Current Handicap Index is NOT applied).
iii) Maximum individual Handicap Index is 24.0. A player with an index of 24.1 or higher is not eligible. Dropping down to meet this requirement is not permitted.
iv) For a pair to be eligible, their combined Inter-Club Eligibility Handicap Indexes, when added together, must not be higher than 42.0.
v) There must be no more than 10.0 of a difference between the Handicap Indexes of any pair selected. Dropping down to meet this requirement is not permitted.
vi) Strokes will be given in matches based on the players’ Inter-Club Eligibility Handicap Index.

Duggan Cup

The Duggan Cup is run by Edenderry Golf Club. It is a men's foursomes match play event for the over 50’s. Teams from all over the south Leinster region enter the competition and the semi finals and final are held in Edenderry Golf Club.
Rules:
Competitors must be aged 50 years or over on January 1st
The handicap index limit for any player is 18
The combined handicap index of any pair cannot be lower than 20 or higher than 32
The handicaps applicable are those on January 1st
The handicap allowance is half the difference of the combined handicaps
All matches should be played to a finish
Where the same team wins the Cup in 2 successive years the team must change at least 4 members
who played in the final on the 2nd year.

The Brennan Cup is a regional inter-club fourball competition run by Arklow Golf Club. The final is hosted by Arklow Golf Club and generally takes place in September.
Rules
The team consists of 10 members, playing 5 fourball matches
All matches take place at one venue.
There is no handicap limit and matches are played off the current handicap index.
The lowest handicapped player in the fourball goes to scratch and the three other players receive 9/10ths of the difference in handicap.

The JB Carr Trophy is run by Woodenbridge Golf Club, and was inaugrated in 1996 celebrating the great Irish amateur golfer, Joe Carr.
The competiton runs nationally, but is based on county boundaries in the early rounds. It is a tournament for the over 60’s.
Rules:
5 pairs playing Scotch Foursomes Match Play. Maximum allowable handicap index is 30 per pairing
Draw will determine home advantage with the exception of regional finalists who will have a home and away series
Age 60+ on or before 31st December the preceding year
Early rounds will be played within county boundaries
All county winners will then play off within their own region to produce regional champions
The four regional champions will then play an All Ireland semi-finals and Final in Woodenbridge Golf Club in September

Mixed Foursomes matchplay run by Baltinglass Golf Club. The trophy was inaugrated in 1968 (50th Anniversary) and named after the sponser and then Club Secretary, J D Cullen.
It was the first interclub mixed foursomes competition in the South Leinster area. Current holders - Woodbrook.

Teams will consist of 5 pairings. There will be no handicap limit and a player’s current handicap index will apply. A player can not represent more than one Club.

i) The Players’ Inter-Club Eligibility Handicap Indexes (as per section D of the general regulations) when added together, must not be lower than 30.0. This value will also be used to determine course handicaps for all matches.
ii) If the Player’s Inter-Club Eligibility Handicap Indexes, when so combined, exceed 34.0, the pair must play off 34.0 with the higher player dropping down. If both players are off the same handicap index, in this scenario, both drop down to 17.0.
iii) The lowest Inter-Club Eligibility Handicap Index an individual may hold in order to be eligible is 13.0.
iv) The criteria set out in Regulation 2.3 (g) of the General Regulations for Golf Ireland Competitions, as set out in the Golf Ireland Handbook, apply to this competition, ie: Players must comply with the ‘four-card’ rule in the previous calendar year.
v) Players must comply with the requirement to have 20 scores on their Handicap Records, recorded at any time or in any season prior to 1 January in the year of the event.
f) Course Handicap Calculation: Players must calculate their Course Handicaps using the Slope Rating of the tees prescribed for Female players.

If the overall result of the match is tied, the selected pair for each team, who must have played together on the day, will engage in a holeby-hole playoff until there is a winner.
e) Handicap Eligibility:
i) The Players’ Inter-Club Eligibility Handicap Indexes (as per section D of the general regulations), when added together, must not be lower than 51.0. This value will also be used to determine course handicaps for all matches.
ii) If the Player’s Inter-Club Eligibility Handicap Indexes, when so combined, exceed 57.0, the pair must play off 57.0 with the higher player dropping down. If both players are off the same handicap index, in this scenario, both drop down to 28.5.
iii) The lowest Inter-Club Eligibility Handicap Index an individual may hold in order to be eligible is 21.0.

• All rounds are scheduled for play on the date set down on the draw, however Clubs may mutually agree to play prior to this date if practicable to do so. No Extensions shall be granted. • The aggregate of the best 3 Stableford scores for each team will count towards the best team score.
• Ties will be decided per the Golf Ireland General Regulations. f) Handicapping:
• There is NO requirement for a player to have 20 scores on their handicap record by 31 December 2025 for this competition.
• A player will use their current Handicap Index on the day of the competition.
• A player’s handicap index must not be lower than 36.0 on the day of the competition. There is no higher handicap index limit.
• Players will compete in current handicap index order.
• Strokes will apply based on the Course Handicap and the Stroke Index of the 9-hole course being played. Shots will apply based on 9-hole handicap allowance per the computer calculation.

• The club on top of the draw in Rd 1 will have 3 matches at the home club for players of HI 10.0 - 22.0 with the remaining three matches at the away club for players of HI 22.1 - 36.0. Subsequent round draws allocating “Home” team will be determined using the GI Match Draw Guide.
• Matches: Each match shall conclude after 18 holes, if a match result is not already determined, half points will be applied.
• Should a match result in a tie, the venue which has been deemed the home venue for playoff purposes as per the Golf Ireland Match Draws Guide shall house the sudden death decider. Each Team Captain will have 15 minutes from the conclusion of the match to identify their Player on the team who will contest a sudden death play-off to determine the overall winner per General Regulation 8.1c. In the event of a tie in the Leinster final, the Team Captain must select a player to compete in the sudden death playoff from the lower handicap index range i.e. 10.0-22.0.
• Teams must play in Handicap Order at each venue.
• All rounds are scheduled for play on the date set down on the draw, however Clubs may mutually agree to play prior to this date if practicable to do so. No Extensions shall be granted.
f) Handicapping

If the overall result of the match is tied, the selected pair for each team, who must have played together on the day, will engage in a hole-by-hole playoff until there is a winner.
e) Handicap Eligibility: The Players’ Inter-Club Eligibility Handicap Index (as per section D of the general regulations), when added together, must not be lower than 27.0 or higher than 40.0 (if higher, dropdowns are permitted with the higher of the pair dropping down unless both players are off the same handicap, in which case both will drop down to 20.0). The lowest Inter-Club Eligibility Handicap Index an individual may hold in order to be eligible is 10.0. Each side must play off the same set of tees on each hole when teeing off – the standard set of male and female tees respectively where male and female players are to drive. Teams may play in any combined handicap order.
e) In accordance with General Regulation 8.1 (c) in the Golf Ireland Handbook, matches that finish all-square after 18 will be halved. If the overall result of the match is tied, the selected pair for each team, who must have played together on the day, will engage in a hole-by-hole playoff until there is a winner.
f) Handicap Eligibility: All players must have an active Handicap Index on 1 Jan in the year of the event. The Players’ Inter-Club Eligibility Handicap Index (as per section D of the general regulations), when added together, must not be lower than 19.0. This value will also be used to determine course handicaps for all matches. If the combined handicap index is higher than 27.0, the pair must use 27.0 with the higher player dropping down. If both players are off the same h’cap in this scenario, both drop down to 13.5. To be eligible players must have 20 scores on their handicap records, which were recorded on or before 31 December 2025 and have returned 4 scores in a singles competition in 2025 as per regulation 2.3(g) of the General Regulations.
g) Course Handicap Calculation: Male players must calculate their Course Handicaps using the Slope Rating of the tees prescribed for Male Players and Female players must do likewise using the Rating for the tees to be used by Female players.

Qualifying:
Regional: The winning pair (net) from each club will qualify to play in the Regional competition area final. The best gross pair from each club will qualify to play in the Regional competition area final provided that at least 10 pairs have entered the competition at club level.
National: The winners, runners-up, gross and 3rd best pairs from each Regional venue will qualify to play in the National Final.
At both stages, substitutes, in score order, will be permitted where the winners cannot participate at the next stage.

Handicapping:
Silver Medal – Handicap Index up to and including 20.0 Bronze Medal – Handicap Index of 20.1 and higher
Eligibility:
i) A player belonging to more than one affiliated club may compete in the Golf Ireland Medal competitions held at each of these clubs and may play for two medals on the same day, provided they are not played on the same course.
ii) Under no circumstances may any player compete twice in the same Golf Ireland Medal Competition.
Qualifying:
i) Club - The qualifiers will be those who return the lowest aggregate of three Net Scores in the Silver and Bronze categories from 1st March to 31st July.
The winning of a Silver Medal supersedes the winning of a Bronze Medal in any club in the same year.
ii) Regional - Club medal winners are eligible to play in Regional Finals. Exception: In the event of a player winning the medal at both her home and away club, the player will represent her home club in the Regional final and her away club may be represented by the runner-up.
iii) National -The Silver and Bronze players with the best net scores in each category of the Regional Final will qualify to play in the National Medal Final, as per the following allocation: Connacht – 10 places; Leinster – 30 places; Munster – 20 places; Ulster – 20 places. Substitutes, in score order, will be permitted.
iv) At all stages, substitutes, In score order, will be permitted where the winners cannot participate at the next stage.
Form of play:
Club - A minimum of three 18-hole Stroke Acceptable Score competitions designated as Golf Ireland Medal competitions, which may be played in conjunction with a club stroke play competition.
Regional & National - 18-hole Stroke Acceptable Score competition off current Handicap Index in the category in which the player qualified subject to:
i) A player whose Handicap Index reduces before the Regional or National final shall play in the category in which she qualified off her lower Handicap Index.
ii) A player whose Handicap Index increases before the Regional or National final shall continue to play in the category in which she qualified off the maximum permitted Handicap Index for that category
Regulations - Club:
i) The Committee must select a minimum of three Stroke Play club competitions in the period up to 31st July in the year of the event which will be designated as Golf Ireland Medal competitions. The maximum score form of Stroke Play is permitted.
ii) The dates at each affiliated club shall be fixed by the beginning of the calendar year.
iii) The date may only be altered should the course be pronounced unavailable by the Club Committee, or if the Committee or its authorised representative considers that, for any reason, the course is not in a playable condition, or that there are circumstances which render the proper playing of the game impossible.
iv) The new date must be within two calendar months of the date originally fixed. A change of date may be applied to a Main or an Alternate Day separately.
v) If the Main Day is cancelled and cannot be re-arranged, the player in each category with the best Net Score on the Alternate Day, is the winner of that Medal Competition. Similarly, if the Alternate Day is cancelled, the Main Day results stand.
vi) There shall be no compulsory draw or entry fee for players competing in the Golf Ireland Medal Competitions. The Committee may make its own terms regarding draws, starting times and entry fees for any competitions played in conjunction with the Golf Ireland Medal Competition.
vii) Should only one player enter the competition her score must be recorded and count for Golf Ireland Medal purposes.
viii) Where a club has more than one course, the Golf Ireland Medal Competitions need not all be played on the same course provided that, all competitors in the Silver category play the same course in any one competition and all the competitors in the Bronze category play the same course in any one competition.
Regulations - Player:
i) A player must register her intention to compete on the day of the competition by ensuring that her entry has been inserted in the competition entry list, manually or by computer as required by the Committee in the Terms of Competition.
ii) For the Silver Medal all three scores must be returned whilst the player has a Handicap Index of 20.0 or under,
iii) For the Bronze Medal, all three scores must be returned whilst the player has a Handicap Index of 20.1 or above.
Ties:
Club - If two or more competitors tie, the winner shall be decided on the Net Score of the last 9, 6, 3 or 1 hole(s) of all three cards added together. If still a tie, playoff in

Started in memory to Ireland's first Open Champion, the Fred Daly Trophy has been competed for since 1995. Daly, who won the Open Championship at Hoylake in 1947, also played in the Ryder Cup four times, 1947, 1949, 1951 and 1953.

If required, a copy of the written permission from his Home Club must be forwarded to the opposing Team Captain and relevant Regional Office within four days of any request.
ii) Singles Match Play.
iii) Team must play in order of current Handicap Index. In matches with three games at one club and two at the other, the lowest three players from each team must play in the venue with three matches.
e) Handicapping: To be eligible, players must have a Handicap Index at the time of competing. All matches are played off scratch.
f) Ties in two-leg matches: When a round is played over two legs each individual match is extended one hole at a time until there is a winner. If the overall result is tied, each team captain will have 15 minutes from the conclusion of the match to identify the player, who played at the designated Home Venue, who will contest a sudden-death playoff to determine the overall winner as per Regulation 8.1(c) of the General Regulations.

i) Players must have a Handicap Index at the time of playing.
ii) Players will not be eligible to play in this competition if their Handicap Index was lower than 5.0 on the 1st January in the year of the event. However, if a players’ Handicap Index drops below 5.0 after 1st January, they will still be eligible and in this case, they must use their Handicap Index on the day of the competition.
iii) If a player’s Playing Handicap on the day of competing, when calculated using current Handicap Index, is higher than 24, the player must play off 24.

The Irish Junior Foursomes began in 1983 and since then has proved to play an important part in the development of boys golf and inter-club match play.
a) Age Group: Under 18 as specified in General Regulations
b) Gender: Male
c) Size of Team: Four players
d) Regulations:
i) A player must compete for his Home Club (the club which controls and administers his handicap) should that club require him to do so. If his Home Club does not require him to compete, a player may only compete for another club under one of the following scenarios: a) His Home Club has not entered the tournament; b) The player receives written permission bearing his Home Club’s letterhead and signed by a Club Official confirming that such written permission is authorised by the Club. If required, a copy of the written permission from his Home Club must be forwarded to the opposing Team Captain and relevant Regional Office within four days of any request.
ii) Each match shall be played over 18 holes, the aggregate of holes up to decide the winning team. The full round must be played unless an overall result on holes up has already decided the event, when the defeated team may concede the match before completion of 18 holes. Except where the draw specifies that one game should be played in each club contesting the match, in the case of a tie, the second match as selected, shall immediately continue one hole at a time until there is a winner. Where one game is played in each club contesting the match, the pairs playing in the club drawn on top will continue one hole at a time until there is a winner. The pairs contesting tie holes must maintain their respective orders of play in which they played from the start of the match.
iii) If tied, match 2 continues in a hole-by-hole playoff.
e) Handicapping:
i) Players must have a Handicap Index at the time of playing that is not higher than 12.0 (ie, if a player’s Handicap Index is higher than 12.0, they must use an index of 12.0 to calculate their Course Handicap).
ii) To determine Strokes: Each player uses their current Handicap Index to calculate their Course Handicaps. (Any player with an index higher than 12.0 must use 12.0). The pair then add their rounded Course Handicaps together and the pair’s Playing Handicap is 50% of their combined Course Handicap. In Match Play, 50% of the difference between the two pairs’ combined Course Handicaps determines strokes given or received.
