The final of our John Linnane Motors Winter League took place on Saturday 2nd March in very testing conditions with some great scores coming in from the winners. Congratulations to all the prize winners and thank you to everyone who took part in what was a hugely successful Winter League.
Finals Day Winners:
1st - "Fore in a Row" Gabriel O'Donoghue, Paul Garland, Greg Garland & Tom Cox - 59pts (CB)
2nd - "The Vice Squad" David Hallihan, Ian Mooney (Captain), Kevin Czwalina & Paul Furlong - 59pts (CB)
3rd - "Second Choice" Alvin Mitchell, Gavin Carroll, Ken Loughran & Kieran Roche - 59pts
John Linnane Motors Winter League – Week 13 report
The final round of Winter league competition was completed at the weekend with a 137 Winter league golfers returning a score.

1st – Dolphins: Alan Reid (29), Derek Jenkinson (0), Michael O'Rorke (36) & Philip Ruttledge (31), 67 pts
T-2nd - Back to the Kuchar: Alan Bain (28), Darren Delaney (24), Glenn Tighe (28) & Keith Corcoran (36), 64 pts

Thanks to their Winter league equalling top score of 67 points the “Dolphins” managed to overtake the long-time leaders “Fore in a Row” to secure top spot in this year’s qualification competition, well done lads.
There is a tie for 3rd place with both teams finishing on 584 pts. When adding back the lowest discarded score both teams ended up on 638 pts, adding the next score saw them both with 692 and then when counting all 13 weeks they both scored 742 points!

The fight for the 12th & Final qualifying position was decided on the tie-breaker after 2 teams finished on 576 pts, adding back the lowest discarded score sees the Vice Squad ahead by a single point, 630 vs 629
12th - The Vice Squad: David Hallihan, Ian Mooney, Kevin Czwalina & Paul Furlong
13th - Egg heads: David Murphy, Edward Byrne, Graham Norman & Ryan Dowling
Category 1 (Handicap 0-10)
Despite a wobble over the last 2 weeks, David Hallihans strong early season form saw him hold off Paul Garland by a single point

T-3rd – Gavin Carroll & Keith Clarke, 286 pts
Category 2 (Handicap 11 – 15)
Another late charge by Rob Jacob wasn’t quite enough to overhaul Gabby with the tie-breaker needed to split the lads here with Gabby having a discard of 28 vs Robs 26 to be added back
1st – Gabriel O’Donoghue, 301 pts
2nd – Robert Jacob, 301 pts
3rd – Ciaran Doyle, 260 pts
Category 3 (Handicap 16 – 20)
An average of 31 points over the last 5 weeks saw Stephen claim 1st place
1st – Stephen Ryan, 295 pts
T-2nd – Declan Cox & Tom Wheatley, 288 pts
Category 4 (Handicap 21+)
The best individual score of this year’s winter league with 5 scores over 30 points (Bo will be watching!)
1st – Shane Anthony Doyle, 304 pts
2nd – Philip Rutledge, 288 pts
3rd – Ken Loughran, 284 pts
Winter League finals day is Saturday 2nd March between 10am & 12pm, tee times will be published on the BRS system. Best of luck to all qualifiers.
