There was a fantastic write-up on Wicklow Golf Club by Brian Keogh in the Irish Independent during the week which summarises all what's great about playing golf at Wicklow Golf Club.

Also great to hear the thoughts on Wicklow Golf Club from the course designer, Pat Ruddy...
"When it comes to views, it may be matched but not exceeded. You can see all the way to the Mountains of Mourne and across to the Welsh Hills. It's a remarkable place to play... There aren't many golf courses so snug to the population. A fellow can just stroll up to his local for his game of golf or his pint. What more could you want?"

Tickets available from Robin Heather 087-2570200 or in the clubhouse on Friday 21st and 28th September after the weekly 9 hole competition. All Members and Guests Welcome.

Dan wins gold at Irish Special Olympic Games

Wicklow Golf Club would like to congratulate our barman Dan Wilson on winning a gold medal for golf at the Special Olympic Games Ireland. The Games were held last month at St. Margaret’s Golf Club in Dublin. Dan has played golf from an early age with his parents John and Betty, both keen golfers themselves, and joined the Special Olympics in 2003 when the Blue Dolphins were formed in Wicklow. Following his win in Dublin, Dan will be going forward for possible selection at the World Games in Abu Dhabi in 2019.

In recognition of his recent success, our club professional Louise D’Arcy presented Dan with a Wicklow Golf Club shirt during the week at the clubhouse. We wish Dan all the best for his future golfing endeavours.

Well done to junior member Conor Coffey (aged 10) who had a hole in one on the 9th hole while out playing with his mother Michelle on Tuesday 10th July.

Viewers of RTÉ One's "Striking Out" may have recognised Wicklow Golf Club feature in Sunday night's episode of the acclaimed series. Several locations from around the local area have appeared on the show over the last two weeks including the pier at Wicklow Harbour, Leitrim Place and Tinakilly House.

The cast and crew including lead actors, Rory Keenan and Paul Anthony-Barber who play characters Eric and Richard Dunbar, arrived at Wicklow Golf Club for filming last October. They spent several hours filming which resulted in some stunning shots of the course showing the rugged Wicklow coastline with the Dublin/Wicklow Mountains in the background.
