There was a great turnout for the beginning of the ladies Stay In Golf 2018 programme at the club on Saturday 3rd February.
Thank you to Club Pro Louise D'Arcy for her putting lesson, tips and encouragement to the ladies.
Looking forward to seeing all these enthusiastic players out on the course over the next few months.

Viewers of RTÉ One's "Striking Out" may have recognised Wicklow Golf Club feature in Sunday night's episode of the acclaimed series. Several locations from around the local area have appeared on the show over the last two weeks including the pier at Wicklow Harbour, Leitrim Place and Tinakilly House.

The cast and crew including lead actors, Rory Keenan and Paul Anthony-Barber who play characters Eric and Richard Dunbar, arrived at Wicklow Golf Club for filming last October. They spent several hours filming which resulted in some stunning shots of the course showing the rugged Wicklow coastline with the Dublin/Wicklow Mountains in the background.

Why not come and watch it at Wicklow Golf Club on the big screen next Saturday (3rd February) evening? #3Pintsfor11Euro

The clubhouse was packed to the rafters for the ceremonial donning of the blazers which took place immediately after the drive-in. We wish Lady President Phyl Long, Mr President Moses Coffey, Lady Captain Doreen McGettigan and Mr Captain Gerry Doyle the very best of luck for 2018.

16th Green Update:

Progress is excellent with the contractor recently working 6.00am to 9.00pm on the project!

  • The initial stripping of soil, sand and gravel is complete, then the reshaping takes place.
  • The bunker to the right of the green will be cleaned out and reconstructed.
  • The old sand bunker/grass bunker short and right of the green will also be filled in with excess material and re-grassed.

The Course Committee is delighted with progress and expects to have the green back in play for the 2018 season, commencing in April next.

Well done to our Under 20's Team and manager Brian Murphy who won the final of the Wicklow Cup on Sunday 3rd of December 2017. They beat Greystones in the final played at Woodbrook Golf Club.

Our new PGA Professional Louise D’Arcy commences operating at the club tomorrow, 1st December, 2017. The Officers and Committees extend a very warm welcome to Louise and wish her every success in her role at the club. Louise brings a host of professional skills to the job including a strong track-record in coaching. Her background includes being a coach at the GUI National Golf Academy where she was head of the Junior Golf Ireland programme. Louise is looking forward to meeting as many members as possible over the coming weekend.
